Prominent Broadcasters and Medical Practitioners Stormed FIBAN, Osun State Chapter, Health Day Massively

Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, FIBAN, Osun State chapter took to the streets of Osogbo to mark its annual Health Day with drums and trumpets, exercising their bodies with different dancing steps.

This year health day program titled; Broadcasting Profession with Sound Health: A Pathway to Wealth was divided into two segments; walk to live and lectures on the importance of health to broadcasters.

The walk to live was from Old-Garage to Oke-Fia and was rounded up to Osogbo Holiday Inn where the second segment of the program started with the presence of meaningful Nigerians in the field of Journalism and medical practitioners who gave free test to all members of the association.

Addressing the members of the association, Permanent Secretary, ministry of health, Mr. Kayode Adegoke who was ably represented by the Provost of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr. Mobolaji Olaoye charged the members of FIBAN not to joke with their health as it’s a primary tool needed for them to function well in their career.

He equally warned them to avoid self-medication and patronizing quack doctors. He noted, wellbeing should be giving ultimate priority for effective delivery as broadcasters.

State officer of the National Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs. Oladele Brown, represented by Mr. Emmanuel urged FIBAN to follow the codes and conduct of NBC to letter.

The chairman of FIBAN, Osun State chapter, Olugbade Oluomo assured the general public of the association readiness to give adequate information to the general public.

“The association will work more intensively to make sure its members deliver rightly in their jobs without fear and favour in order to make the public listen and get the right information” He said.

In his discussion with Brain Trust Hub, he appreciated the full support of all the members and the stakeholders who participated fully.

Stakeholders there present were; Gbenga Adeyeye, Akintunde Oyelade, Adekunle Mobolade, Modasola Oladunjoye, Evang. Ayobami Oyelade and Dr. Akinkunmi Alabi.

They all charged the association members in one voice to be at peace with one another as it’s also a secret and very cheap way to secure a healthy living.
