FG Declares Friday Public Holiday, Banks Excluded

The Federal Government has declared Friday, February 22 as a public holiday.

This is made known by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau. He made the announcement via his Twitter handle.

According to him, this holiday is to make voters have sufficient time to be in their various polling unit  before the election day in preparation for the Presidential and National Assembly elections. He equally assures the security of every individual before, during and after the election.

In his tweet, those providing essential duties and bankers are excluded from the holiday.

“The work-free day is to enable citizens return to their polling units for the reschedule Presidential and National Assembly elections.

“Security agencies have been directed to ensure safety of lives and property before, during and after the general election.”
