(Brain Trust Hub)The College of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, Ilesa chapter, meets on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the incidence of ‘sudden deaths’, which has gone viral, with the members of the union among other issues.
An event which turned down the activities of Osun State College of Education, Ilesa was earlier reported to be caused by the increasing sudden deaths of students, which the students without SUG protested against, simply because of school management’s mum on the issue.
The Chairman of the Union, Comrade Olusegun Lana, who is also the Secretary of all Colleges of Education in the South West, Nigeria, addresses the staff and the media that the three students confirmed dead were not dead on the campus or in their various hostels.
“The last death for instance, did not happen on campus or hostel. The person was said to have been sick for almost two weeks and passed out under the care of the parent in a hospital”, he said.
He went further to condemn the unethical approach adopted by the students in showing their grievances which led them to beating up the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ijamo Police Station.
Com. Lana saluted the maturity of the DPO for managing the challenge so well for not escalating it.
