Otunba Lekan Akinyele also known as Loko contested to represent the Efon constituency in Ekiti State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and lost to his opponent, Hon. Goke Olajide of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

All Progressive Congress, APC, chieftain (Chief Alake) in Efon local government, Ekiti State was seen instructing thugs not to allow anyone voting for PDP candidate in the coming State House of Assembly elections on March 9 to stay around the environment.
It’s deduced from the video going viral on social media that the chief in question was instructing the thugs to operate in the assignment given to them.
Otunba Akinyele during the interview debunked the rumour that he was a dropout and informed the general public that he passed through all stages of education in Nigeria and that made him a full graduate. He also said he never see any philanthropic act as a waste of resources, rather a necessity for the good of Efon-Alaye at large.
“Everyone in Efon is a family, I have no special preference for any political party, and the progress of Efon is my dream and my target. I hope to see a period when all party leaders will come together to think of Efon-Alaye first before their political parties” He said.
Akinyele said he has congratulated the winner of the election through call and text message, and he has scheduled a meeting with him for them to talk about the progress of Efon constituency at large. “It’s not about parties now, it’s about the progress of our community”. He added
Otunba Lekan Akinyele, a Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, seeking to represent Efon Constituency in the House of Assembly has promised to enhance the fortunes of the people if elected at the weekend poll.
He made it clear that his reputation earned him the privilege to contest as an honourable that has the love of his people at heart when he informed the gathering how the community itself humbly requested for his chief servant role for Efon Constituency.
He took his time to appreciate all and sundry in Efon-Alaye for the support, love, confidence they displayed and had in him before and during the election. He assured them of the brighter future that is ahead.
In his response to the presenter’s question if the defeat is the end of his partisan politics, he said, “This is just the beginning”.
