INEC commended ahead of election by foreign observers

In few hours to the Presidential and Federal House of Assemblies general elections, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has been highly commended by International observers.

Pan Africa Women Project, PAWP, which is part of the foreign observers, arrived in Kano and commended the level of INEC preparation towards a smooth exercise.

Belinda Madona who is the team leader made the commendation on Friday in Kano. She noted that they have been coming to monitor Nigeria elections before now including the 2015 general elections, Ekiti and Osun State Gubernatorial elections.

She also commended the efforts of all security agencies in Kano for mapping out a befitting security strategy targeted at ensuring free, fair and violence free election. She added that the security agencies should be objective and honourable while discharging their duties during the conduct of the elections so that it could be free from intimidation.

Madona finally called on the electorates to participate fully in the exercise tomorrow. She assures the populace of sane society where peace will reign based on what she and the entire team have seen. She reminded the citizens that it is their civic rights to vote for the candidate of their choice without intimidation.
